A Pilgrimage of Hope
On February 15 – 17, 2025, the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, from Fox Chase, Argentina and Croatia, participated in the Archeparchy’s spiritual renewal program called “Hope & Perseverance, Peace and Justice”. His Beatitude Sviatoslav along with Metropolitan Borys, Bishop Paul, Bishop Bohdan and Bishop Benedict joined thousands of people to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia. A program of services, confession, healing prayer with anointing, workshops were scattered throughout the days.
The main Pontifical Divine Liturgy on Sunday was presided by His Beatitude Sviatoslav and all the Bishops and clergy along with thousands of laity. A Prayer Service for Hope & Resilience, led by Patriarch Sviatoslav and Archbishop Perez was held in the afternoon at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia. Monday was reserved for clergy and monastics. After the Divine Liturgy and breakfast, His Beatitude shared the state of the UGCC Church during these three years of invasion by Russia.
The Sisters had an opportunity to mingle with His Beatitude, ask questions and take some photos. The days were blessed with much prayer, reflection, joy and hope.
