Ukrainian Catholicism

What does it mean to be Ukrainian Catholic?

There are twenty-three Eastern Catholic churches in full communion with Rome, the largest of which is the Ukrainian Catholic Church (also called the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church). Ukrainian Catholics belong to the Byzantine Rite.

John Paul II often described the relationship between the Byzantine East and the Latin West using the analogy of the Church breathing with her two lungs.
