Children’s Stories Exhibition in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania
The Sisters of St. Basil the Great are hosting an exhibition of Ukrainian Children’s Stories and Ethnographic Dioramas on their campus in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
This exhibition is the first time that all the works of Luba and Andrij Chornodolsky are presented in one show. The 3,500 square foot auditorium is filled with the wonderment of Children’s Stories and Cultural Heritage of Ukraine. This is a cumulation of twenty years of sharing the lessons of stories as a teaching tool for all.
Visitors will recall the stories their parents read to them and smile at the whimsical depictions. The exhibition is made possible through the generosity of the Sisters of St. Basil that made the facility available for the time period of October 13, 2024, through November 17, 2024. On Saturdays the exhibition is open from Noon-5:00 PM and on Sundays from 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM. School groups and organizations can schedule visits Monday-Friday by calling 410-241-9037.
The exhibition is under the auspices of the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Philadelphia, Borys Gudziak, Sister Joann Sosler, Provincial Superior of the Sisters of St Basil the Great, the Honorable Consul of Ukraine for Philadelphia, Iryna Mazur, Esq. and the 88th Branch of the Ukrainian Women’s League of America.
Admission to the exhibition is free. Donations for the Ukrainian War Orphans Fund are being accepted. All donations are tax deductible, and receipts will be provided. An accounting of the distribution to the orphanages in Ukraine will also be made public.
