Holy Trinity Province Sisters Return to Ukraine

The Holy Trinity Province Sisters ended their American trip with a stop in Chicago where they visited parishes and schools. The three Sisters from Holy Trinity Province in Ukraine have returned home after successful fundraising stops in and around Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, and Chicago. They regret that they were unable to visit more Ukrainian Catholic parishes in the United States, despite pleas for them to do so, but they will consider returning in later 2026 or 2027. The challenge is that the Sisters must balance the needs of the people they serve in Ukraine, especially children and youth, with trips abroad.

On three weekends in March, Mother Sevastiana Karvatska, OSBM, Provincial Superior; Sister Inokentiia Brattsiv, OSBM, Second Provincial Councilor and Econome; and Sister Lucia Murashko, OSBM, Superior of the Zaporizhzhia Monastery, visited the following:

  • Saint Michael the Archangel in Jenkintown, PA
  • Saint John the Baptist in Whippany, NJ
  • Saint George in New York City
  • Saint John the Baptist in Newark, NJ
  • Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Chicago
  • Saint Joseph the Betrothed Church in Chicago
  • Saints Volodymyr and Olha Church in Chicago
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview, IL (Roman Catholic)

They found it incredibly edifying to meet so many people, both Ukrainian Catholics and Roman Catholics, who are praying fervently for Ukraine. They also enjoyed visiting schools and speaking with children.

Funds are still being collected for Holy Trinity Province over the next few weeks which the Jesus, Lover of Humanity Province will forward by wire transfer.
