Manuscript Illumination II
Pre-requisite: Manuscript Illumination I by Ginny Licata
In this class you will continue to enjoy the detailed artwork of the Middle Ages. The instruction builds on the previous class and you will be introduced to the use of gold leaf. Included in this advanced level, you will be reviewing the basic techniques, be introduced to layout of text, have alternate palettes and then concentrate on the decorated letter, the stained glass effects and the white vine. You will complete an individualized project by the end of the course. Lunch is included.

Virginia Licata
Virginia Licata is retired from Camden County Community College, Blackwood, NJ, where she was a mathematics professor. She is now on staff at Loyola Retreat House in Faulkner, MD where she gives both directed and preached retreats. She is also an active parishioner in her home parish of Holy Family in Sewell, NJ. With a great desire to master manuscript illumination, she attended both beginning and advanced courses in the subject at St. Michael Art Institute in Mystic, CT.
