The Saints and The Orders They Founded
Ignatius Loyola was a Basque nobleman whose battlefield wound led to a profound conversion. Jean Baptiste de La Salle was a canon of Rheims Cathedral whose career was derailed by a family crisis. Neither man could foresee what God had in store, as each would found a religious order with global implications for Catholic education. Centuries later their work continues and their legacies live on through the Jesuits and the Christian Brothers. Learn about these two saints and their orders.
