Save the Dates for Volunteering in Ukraine
Come and serve with the Sisters of St. Basil in their ministry to Ukraine’s needy. This coming year’s Basilian Volunteer Program will take place from May 27 to June 15, 2019.
This year’s English catechetical camps and visits to orphanages and psychiatric institutions will take place from May 26 to June 15, 2019. Due to the many volunteers requesting to participate, there will be two separate regions being served, one in eastern Ukraine and one in western Ukraine.
Sr Ann will be leading the English camps in Poltava and Zaporizhia (eastern Ukraine) and Sr Joann will be leading the English camps and visiting orphanages in Ivano-Frankivsk the week of May 27 to May 31, 2019, in Mukachevo from June 2 to 7, 2019 and in Drohobych June 10 to June 14, 2019.
Last year the program served 150 children in three different area camps and many other children in 8 orphanages, psychiatric institutions, halfway houses, etc. Sister Ann Laszok, OSBM and Sister Joann Sosler, OSBM together with the accepted applicants will collaborate with the Sisters, priests and seminarians of Ukraine to provide Berlitz style English camps as well as continue bringing financial support to the orphanages. Join the Sisters as they continue their annual ministry of evangelization and catechization while bringing support and comfort to the needy of Ukraine.
Volunteers provide their own airfare to Lviv or Kyiv and the Sisters provide room and board within Ukraine.
