Sisters of Saint Basil the Great Hold School Supply Giveaway for Ukrainian Refugees
The Sisters of Saint Basil the Great distributed backpacks full of school supplies to Ukrainian refugee children on Sunday, August 17 at the Sisters’ Motherhouse in Jenkintown. More than 200 backpacks and supplies were distributed.
The Sisters of Saint Basil the Great arranged a School Supply Giveaway for Ukrainian refugee
children on Sunday, August 17. The event, organized by Sister Teodora Kopyn, OSBM and assisted by Sister Monica Lesnick
and Sister Dia Zahurska, helped more than 200 children in need.
Each child received a backpack, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens, cases and sweet treats to
aid them heading into the 2025-26 school year. The donations were supplied by several donors, including Rev. Troyan, Rev. Olinyk, Rev. Royik, Catherine Nazark, George Bachovin and parishioners of several area churches and Gloria Dei
Church in New Jersey.
